The residents of the San Cayetano neighborhood are looking forward to the soon start of the construction of the sewage network that would begin to be carried out within 10 days.
The works will begin in the area of ??the plaza, where the central mouth of the network will be found, and from there they will be extended to the different streets that make up this neighborhood located in the northeast sector of San Francisco.
This work is part of a comprehensive project that involves the neighborhoods of La Milka, Maipú and Savio. The work to be carried out includes the execution of pumping stations and everything necessary for the operation of the network. It includes the installation of 45,230 meters of PVC sewage collection pipes, 160 mm and 200 mm in diameter with elastic joint allowing access to the network of 3,329 connections, 419 manholes and will also be made up of three lifting stations, 5,105 meters of PVC discharge pipes with a diameter between 160 and 315 mm.
The amount of the work amounts to $335,998,748.47 and an execution period of 24 months was established. It is financed with a loan granted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) destined to finance the Program for the Development of Potable Water and Sanitation Services of the Belgrano Plan. In this case, the municipality expressed its willingness to assume the obligation to reimburse the Province 50% of the total amount resulting from the execution through co-participation resources.
The execution of the work is in charge of the UTE formed by the companies Structures SA, Marinelli SA and Paquini SRL that presented an offer of $351,790,000 with which the corresponding tender was awarded.
With the progress of the work, now is the time for the works to reach the San Cayetano neighborhood, for which the neighbors have already expressed their joy at this possibility.
In this way, the president of the Barrio San Cayetano Neighborhood Center, María Irene Cabrera, explained that "at last the sewer work for the entire neighborhood is going to begin" also pointing out that "the neighbors were waiting a lot" for these works that according to the estimates of the neighborhood "would begin within 10 days."
He also recalled that on the occasion of launching the tender for the execution of the works "the execution period had been estimated at 24 months, which would be completed by the end of this year" to finish the work in the four neighborhoods from which 80% of the area of ??San Francisco will be covered by the sewer network.
Cabrera also added that "this is a very necessary work for our neighborhood that has been requesting it for a long time and finally, now, we are going to have it."
“Although a few years ago there were no problems with the groundwater here, lately we are having problems and that is why we need this work to be done as soon as possible,” added the neighborhood leader in dialogue with LA VOZ DE SAN JUSTO.
In this case, he highlighted the collaboration of the municipality for the granting of atmospheric drainage tanks for neighbors who request it. "From the municipality they provide us with the trucks to drain the cesspools of the houses when the neighbors request it and that is very important because that means an important saving for many who do not have the necessary money to face the cost of this service".
