The tender envelopes for a plastic brick factory were opened
The Housing Institute of Corrientes (Invico) yesterday opened the bid envelopes for the construction of an ecological brick factory, which will have jobs for women, with the support of the Banco de Corrientes (BanCo). It will be located in the Capital.
This is private tender No. 15/2022, for which the signing of the loan contract for the use and enjoyment of land in the Apipé neighborhood has already been finalized. The construction will be carried out in a portion of 50 meters wide by 50 meters deep on Madrid street of lot A in the Apipé neighborhood of the city of Corrientes.
The property is intended exclusively for the construction, installation and operation of a place for the collection, recycling and manufacturing of ecological bricks PET Recycling Plant Project. While this Invico tender includes the works for a first stage, with perimeter fencing.
The Ángel Blanco Association, promoter of the project, explained that the installation of the plant "will benefit more than 30 brick-making families, of which 80% are women" heads of household.
The project “From mud and firewood to the PET recycling park” foresees the creation of a space for the treatment of plastic for the construction of ecological bricks.
They assured that there is interest from Invico for some of the social housing in Corrientes to be built with these materials.
In addition, 80% of the labor for making the bricks with crushed plastic will come from women brickmakers, who prefer to leave aside the toxicity of burning the mud. “We are still collecting plastics, we are working with Invico, who are interested in buying those bricks for social housing,” Daniela Acuña, a representative of the Ángel Blanco civil association, told El Litoral. When the recycling park is completed PET, about 30 brick makers from the Río Paraná, Punta Taitalo and Molina Punta neighborhoods will benefit, most of them women.
biomass waste
The student Gabriel Corvalán from the Faculty of Engineering of the National University of the Northeast (Unne) will manufacture a construction material by reusing biomass waste that meets the criteria of thermal insulation and fire resistance.
The project was presented as part of a call for the "Scholarship to stimulate scientific vocations" of the National Interuniversity Council, and was approved in the first instance. Under the name of "NEA sustainable construction: evaluation of the contribution to environmental sustainability with innovations in the manufacture of construction materials with recycled inputs", Corvalán proposes "testing and measuring thermal properties of bricks made with residual biomass from the region".
“With this proposal I seek to collaborate and give rational use to the immense biomass waste that is produced in the area. Using the sawdust, the shavings, the litter, the coastal areas, the grass, I will work on the prototype of a brick with good insulating characteristics”, explained Corvalán.
The brick models will be subjected to different tests by the Renewable Energies Research and Development Group (Gider) of the Unne Faculty of Engineering, where the work plan will be carried out. |
