In a few more days, the municipality of Villa Regina will make a new call to companies interested in carrying out the work of the southwest sewer collector, which will allow a group of neighborhoods and subdivisions located in that sector to connect to the sewer network from the city.
In April, the municipality held a public tender for the construction of the southwest sewage collector, but the call was abandoned, since no interested company presented itself.
The sewage collector is a project that has been claimed for more than a decade by private lotters and civil associations that has land in a strip between Miter Avenue and Juan XXIII Street, south of General Mosconi Street and north of the Antarctica Street.
Sewer trunk networks were built in these subdivisions, but the families that have homes there cannot connect to the network.

The collector will also allow sewage networks to be built for a series of social subdivisions and improve the quality of delivery to neighborhoods located on the southern area of ??Villa Regina.
As a whole, it is expected that about ten neighborhoods in that sector of the town will benefit from the work that has financing for its execution from the National Entity of Water Sanitation Works (Enohsa).
The work, which will require an investment of $67 million, will be carried out at the intersection of Antártida and América del Norte streets, with a term of 6 months for its completion.
“This work was tendered on April 20 and was deserted because there were no offers. Now we are working to put it out to tender again, which could be private. It is a work that is budgeted and with the Provincial Water Department, so the amounts are fine, but no one showed up, ”said the secretary of Coordination of the local municipality, Ariel Oliveros.

He remarked that “it is a necessary and very important work. It is urgent to be able to carry it forward; first because the work is needed, and second because of a matter of amounts”.
The official explained that the urgency is not only given by the need to provide the neighborhoods with a sanitary service, but also because it is necessary to work with very deep wells, and the presence of water from the groundwater table is reduced during the coming months, until the start of a new irrigation season for the rural sector.
“It is not only because of this technical issue that we are in a hurry to be able to tender and award the execution of the work. Another no less important aspect is the economic one; We want any company that takes on the work to be able to carry it out without the established amounts being devalued based on inflation rates,” said the municipal official.
