Work Detail The work has an investment of 1,200 million and an estimated term of 18 months. Improvements are already running. The works in damaged sectors of the Rosario-Córdoba highway between Carcarañá and the town of James Craik in Cordoba, began to be carried out on February 23 and continue at a sustained pace. The tasks consist of replacing some 3,000 concrete slabs (they have already been repaired between kilometers 340 and 342, in both directions. This does not require detours or reduction of lanes). With an official investment budget of $1,208,791,282, 248 kilometers will be repaired. Simple concrete slabs of various dimensions that are deteriorated will be replaced. Since the highway was inaugurated, it is the first time that this type of work has been carried out. Through public tender 10/21, they were awarded to the joint venture made up of Edeca SA and Mundo Construcciones SA The tasks are part of the road safety works plan, promoted by the Ministry of Public Works of the Nation and the National Directorate of Roads (DNV). Their objective is to improve safety conditions in the transit of national routes managed by the concessionaire. This plan includes accesses, roundabouts and collectors in different locations in eight provinces of the country. Corredores Viales is a public company whose shareholders are the Ministry of Public Works of the Nation and National Roads. It manages six thousand kilometers of routes and highways in 13 Argentine provinces. Road safety To project this work, a traffic study was carried out and it was taken into account that it is one of the national routes with the highest volume in the country. This is due to its strategic location, which links the three most populous cities in Argentina, such as the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (Caba), Rosario and Córdoba. According to DNV data, an average of 11,600 vehicles circulate on this highway per day: 56.7% are cars, 13.5% trucks with trailers, 4.8% trucks without trailers and 2.5% buses. From the survey of the pavement surface, it was possible to identify the most relevant faults and prepare the project that contemplates the reconstruction of 72,900 square meters of the existing rigid pavement.
