Procurement News Notice

PNN 32024
Work Detail September 2 (Renewables Now) - The government of Uzbekistan has launched a Request for Qualification (RfQ) as part of a tender seeking to award up to 500 MW of solar power capacity across three locations. The procurement round is being held by JSC National Grid of Uzbekistan with the support of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Its goal is to select independent power producers to develop solar projects on a build, own, operate, transfer (BOOT) basis across three sites -- in the Namangan, Bukhara and Khorezm regions. The plants will have capacities of around 150 MW, 200 MW and 100 MW, respectively. Interested parties will be able to submit proposals by November 29, 2021. Winners in the tender will be tasked with the design, building financing, operation, maintenance and transfer of the solar parks. The Bukhara site is planned to be coupled with a battery storage system of around 63 MW. In June, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC, better known as Masdar, was selected to build a 457-MW solar farm in Uzbekistans Sherabad district after placing the lowest bid of USD 18.045 (EUR 15.24) per MWh in a tender held by the government.
