Work Detail Brussels-based Codic Groups Hungarian subsidiary is aiming to achieve Access4you Design & Building Gold certification to provide a barrier-free environment for people with special needs, including disabilities for its three ongoing projects in Budapest. The three projects are the soon-to-be-delivered Green Court Office, the HomeWork project under construction and the Modiano project in the design phase. The focus for all projects is on people-centered design and quality, creating buildings that can serve tenants needs in the long term, are efficient and prepared for the future with adaptable, flexible spaces. As a guarantee of this, the company has achieved Access4you Design Gold certification, which will be replaced by Design & Building certification on completion of the development. The certification and the Access4you European certification mark mean that all three properties provide a barrier-free, accessible environment for people with special needs, including people with disabilities. Gergely László, project manager of Codic Hungary, added, "Equal opportunities and accessibility are nowadays fundamental principles that todays buildings and the built environment we create must unconditionally comply with. There was no question of taking into account the special needs of our fellow human beings, whether they be people with physical, sensory, or audio-visual disabilities, or the elderly, who also fall into this category, when designing and subsequently implementing our investments. We have no secret intention of setting an example of social solidarity with many of our competitors and giving equal opportunities to everyone who visits our developments, whether as tenants, partners, or visitors.” Pál Szilvási, project manager of Codic Hungary, said "Codic has been fully on board with the Access4you principles since the concept was first presented. It is important for us to go beyond the existing standards to meet the needs of real users and to create a level playing field for all without restrictions. With this in mind, our projects that have just started have all been designed to achieve the highest Access4you certification. Our Green Court Office project was special in that it was certified at the completion stage of construction. Nevertheless, even in this case, we were able to achieve easy access for everyone from mothers with wheelchairs to people with special needs, with a relatively small investment."
