The Spanish engineering specialist in photovoltaic, thermosolar, wind power projects, substations and evacuation lines Sólida Energías Renovables has been awarded the detailed engineering of the Soco 34.5 / 138 kV substation, which will allow the evacuation of the energy produced by the plant 50 MW photovoltaic plant in the province of San Pedro de Macorís, in the Dominican Republic.
Sólida explains that the works include the design of the civil works, electromechanical assembly, control and protection of the substation, as well as technical support for the negotiations with ETED, the Dominican Electricity Transmission Company.
In parallel, Sólida has started the engineering and technical consultancy work for the construction of the 1.5 MW Pimentel photovoltaic plant in the province of San Francisco de Macorís.
In the Dominican Republic, the company has already participated in biomass and wind projects.
The roadmap of the Dominican Government establishes that by 2030 renewable energies must represent at least 25% of electricity generation. |
