Enel Green Power Panama, the local renewable energy subsidiary of the Italian multinational Enel, and KIO Networks Panama, an international infrastructure and mission-critical information technology services company, have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to the annual supply of 5,000 MWh of renewable electricity, which adds to the commitment that technology has with the preservation of the environment. KIO Networks, a company of Mexican origin, which has 40 world-class Data Centers, distributed in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe, is committed to operating with an increasing volume of renewable energies. Enel Green Power Panama is the main renewable energy operator in the country, in terms of installed capacity. The company operates the 300 MW Fortuna Hydroelectric Plant and the 12 MW Chiriquí solar photovoltaic plant, both in the province of Chiriquí, as well as the 42 MW Sol Real photovoltaic solar complex, made up of five plants distributed between the provinces of Chiriquí and Coclé and Estrella Solar of 8 MW in Coclé. In November, it announced that it will build the Esperanza photovoltaic plant in Panama, which will have a capacity of 26.24 MW and will produce 41.85 GWh per year, and will be destined for important commercial and industrial clients in the country. |
