The expert company in development, construction, and investment in solar energy projects Metka-EGN, a subsidiary of EPC and plant development of the Greek industrial group Mytilineos Holdings, commissioned the Chilean Reich to carry out the engineering and electrical studies for the design of the transmission system facilities of the Willka photovoltaic plant, located 17 kilometers from the border city of Arica, with an installed capacity of 109 MWp.
The order, as published by the Chilean Association of Renewable Energies and Storage, ACERA, on its web portal, contemplates the development of detailed engineering, including calculation reports and construction plans for the lifting substation and its respective interconnection cloth. , together with the design of a 1 x 220 kV single-circuit three-phase transmission line with a length of approximately 18 km between the future Wilka Elevator Substation and the Existing Parinacota Substation owned by Transemel. In addition to the systemic studies required for CEN to approve its commissioning.
The Willka photovoltaic park received environmental approval in 2013. The project consisted, according to the declaration at the time, in the construction and operation of a photovoltaic solar park with a nominal power of 98 MW and a peak installed power of 107.8 MWp. The installation will consist of 49 photovoltaic generators of 2 MW each. The photovoltaic plant will have an approximate area of ??143.37 hectares.
In the installation a substation is projected from where all the energy generated will be evacuated. Said evacuation will be carried out through direct connection to the existing 66 kV Arica - Chapiquña Electric Transmission Line. In the projected substation, the transformation of the 20 kV voltage from the conversion and power blocks will be carried out, up to the output voltage of 66 kV.
The estimated budget for the project at the time was $ 196 million. The Metka and Chile projects are the La Manga plant, with 3 MWp, Rla, with 3 MWp, Eclipse, with 10.4 MWp, and Atacama II, with 168.7 MWp, owned by Sonnedix . |
