Work Detail Austin Water has selected WaterSmart – a VertexOne Brand for offering an easy-to-use online and mobile Customer Portal to customers. The company opted for the platform to launch water analytics and customer engagement programme that is a complement to its water metre network upgrade to advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), known as My ATX Water. With WaterSmart’s platform, the utility and its one million residents will get new capabilities. They will receive notifications for possible leaks and high bills, in addition to detailed consumption analytics to help the city manage resources effectively. Austin Water chief information officer Chris Stewart said: “Austin Water prides itself on finding innovative ways to better serve our customers and we are excited to make this service available so our customers can experience the full benefits of our investment in AMI. “We’re excited to work with WaterSmart and Aclara to provide our customers with ways to be more engaged in managing their own water use.” The programme will give residential and commercial customers and property owners access to WaterSmart’s Customer Portal. It will also deliver personalised information to customers about their water use and how it compares to similar properties, leak alerts and high bill notifications, among others.
