Work Detail The Warren City Fire Department is getting a $2.3 million grant from the Department of Homeland Security to help beef up their operations. Mayor Doug Franklin said the $2,389,845 grant will be used in part to bring the department up to adequate staffing levels. “This grant is very significant to the city’s ability to protect life and property in the community. I greatly appreciate the support from Congressman Tim Ryan and our elected officials,” Franklin said. Operation and Safety grants can be used for hiring, professional training, wellness and fitness programs equipment, personal protective equipment, modifications to facilities, and supplies that support firefighting and EMS operations and safety.
