With an investment of 24,866,374 pesos, the governments of Santa Fe and Entre Ríos will launch the road repaving works at the entrances to the Subfluvial Tunnel, a work that will be carried out by the company "Néstor Julio Guerechet SA". The works, which will begin on January 27, will be carried out at night and with alternate traffic.
The works began in January at the head of the link in Paraná and will be carried out at night and with alternate traffic in order to make users as uncomfortable as possible.
A complete milling of the existing bearing folder was carried out on both access ramps; bridge type sealing of cracks and fissures; waterproofing of transverse joints of screeds constituting the access ramps to the tubing on the Paraná side, as well as both links between the ramps and the viaduct by injection of hydroactive material.
Likewise, the transition zones between ramps and exterior paving would be repaired; the replacement of drains in transverse joints of floor slabs constituting the access ramp to the tubing on the Paraná side as well as both links between the ramps and the viaduct; league irrigation / surface fissure sealant; the provision of a geogrid to avoid cracking due to screed joints, paving with hot asphalt mix type SMA with modified asphalt cement AM3 in a thickness of 4cm; and finally the demarcation and road marking.
Roadway recovery

"It is a satisfaction to start a work of this magnitude in a really complicated economic context and with numerous commitments made prior to this management," said the representative of the Santa Fe government in that entity, Karina Rotela.
In this sense, the Santa Fe official explained that "in addition to sustaining its operating and maintenance costs, the tunnel carries out various architectural and modernization works", referring to the Social Complex, the new Interpretation Center and the new transformer substation. "However, we made the decision to move forward with this new project, which will involve a very important effort but will provide users with a notable improvement in terms of road infrastructure," said Rotela.
For his part, the representative of the Entre Ríos government, Martin Uranga, explained that “on the Paraná side, the access ramp to the viaduct is a sector with difficulties, since the construction of an adequate drainage system that would allow the evacuation of groundwater (groundwater).
“This causes constant deterioration that, due to the impossibility of interrupting the flow of vehicles for a long time, had to be addressed with quick and periodic repairs. With this work we seek to solve it definitively, "he said.
