Deputy Governor Manuel Calvo presented the works that the Province will carry out to increase sewage sanitation to 95%, which will reach 12,000 inhabitants.
Deputy Governor Manuel Calvo, in charge of the Provincial Executive, chaired a few weeks ago, in Arroyito, the presentation of the construction work for the maximum sewer work and complementary facilities for the southern area of ??this city in the department of San Justo. He was accompanied by the local mayor, Gustavo Benedetti, authorities and neighbors.
The collection network currently has an approximate coverage of 70% of the population, corresponding to the northern part of the town. The construction of the new sewage network will increase the sewage treatment area in the city to 95% and will benefit in the next 20 years a population of approximately 12,000 inhabitants.
"It is very pleasant to be here today accompanying the productive development of a city as powerful as Arroyito is," said Calvo. "We are here on behalf of our Governor Juan Schiaretti, to start a basic infrastructure work absolutely necessary for the city," he said.
The company winning the tender, Michelotti e Hijos SA, will carry out the work that will bring a higher quality of life to the inhabitants of this eastern provincial town. The official budget for contracting the work amounts to $ 82,771,418, 14, with a term for completion of 12 months.
The planned work will allow the urbanization process from the Arroyito locality to the South sector to continue, in an environmentally sustainable manner and in an orderly manner.
"You can count on a present Provincial Government," said the Lieutenant Governor, "with a common objective, to work for all the neighbors equally together with the municipalities, to guarantee the necessary infrastructure works so that the cities of the entire province continue to grow." .
In this sense, Calvo recalled works carried out in the city that offered solutions to the residents, such as drains and defenses to prevent floods; the supply and access to drinking water in El Fuertecito and La Curva, two important districts of Arroyito with significant demographic growth, as well as the arrival of natural gas in the region and fiber optics; The latter will not only provide Internet access for residents, but will also allow for the modernization of industrial parks.
The event was attended by the Minister of Public Services of the Province, Fabián López, the local vice mayor, María José Espósito, and provincial legislators.
About the sewage treatment work
The works envisage the installation of around 5000 meters of maximum sewer, 48 manholes, 800 meters of discharge pipe and a pumping station on the pretreatment site.
"This work will allow the development of basic infrastructure to resolve the issue of growth in the southern area of ??Arroyito and benefit its inhabitants. We hope to be coming again in a year to leave the work enabled and inaugurated, "said the Minister of Public Services, Fabián López.
The Pretreatment Plant will allow the sewage effluent to be adapted before being dumped into the ARCOR Companys Liquid Waste Treatment Plant, where the waste is currently dumped by an agreement established with the Municipality of Arroyito.
