Work Detail The City Council of Palamós will open a new call for the lifeguard and surveillance service on the beaches of the municipality . According to Ràdio Palamós , the council approved it at the last Local Government Meeting and provides that a concession may be awarded for two years, extendable to two more. Unlike last year, the public contest was contested and a shorter contract and a smaller budget had to be made in order to start the summer season. They also want the service to launch the first weekend of June. In a statement to Ràdio Palamós, Xavier Lloveras, Councilor for Beaches of the City Council, said that this year we want to regain the normality of the service , since the previous year we had to remove the first contest after we became aware of the resource filed with the Catalan Court of Public Sector Contracts. It was alleged that the price stated as labor in the economic study of the council was below that determined by the collective agreement governing the lifeguard sector. With all this, a second contest had to be called with a contract of only 70 days of service and with less performance. Only one company submitted bids. The City Council is examining the possibility of changing schedules and, as an important new feature, is the assisted bath, a service aimed at people with disabilities and reduced mobility, whose purpose is to facilitate the entry and exit of water so they can enjoy some bathing time, making use of an amphibious chair if needed. The service will be available on the Gran Palamós and Cala Fosca beaches. The rescue and rescue service contract in Palamós goes out to tender for a price of 177,000 euros per year.
