Trianel Windpark Borkum has issued a tender for work to replace defective array cables at an offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
Trianel Windpark Borkum has built the operational 200MW Borkum West 2.1 project and will complete the 200MW 2.2 facility next year.
The tender calls for the replacement of defective array cables between turbines and/or the offshore substation, including the provision of any required vessels, equipment, personnel and project execution documentation.
The contract will also cover any port-related cable handling activities, cable testing and termination works as well as the provision of spare parts.
However, the provision of replacement cables and cable accessories, such as protection systems or hang-offs, is not part of the tender.
The work will run from 1 July 2020 to the end of December 2025 and is subject to renewal, possibly for up to another five years.
