The Federal Electricity and Water Authority launched the second phase of the "Your Home We Care" project under the slogan "Improving the housing of the highest-consuming citizens", through which a number of control devices will be installed and replacement of some lighting systems used in homes, within the framework of a long-term strategic vision aimed at spreading a culture Rationalization among citizens, achieving more energy efficiency and applying the highest international standards in providing quality services to customers.
In implementation of the goals of the second phase, the authority organized a training program for 45 engineers working on the project, where it is planned at this stage to examine the lighting systems used in homes and change the necessary ones through the installation of energy-efficient LED lamps Higher efficiency and longer life, in addition to installing "Aircosaver" controllers in air conditioners, which will manage the air conditioning systems in a smart way, increases energy efficiency, and saves between 20% to 30% of consumption. This stage also includes providing some educational advice for the targeted individuals in the community to raise the efficiency of using electrical appliances and saving energy.
In this context, the Director General of the Federal Electricity and Water Authority, Muhammad Muhammad Salih, said: "The KFH project is concerned with the vision of rational leadership aimed at achieving sustainable development through many ambitious strategies and initiatives. The “Your Home We Care” project, which was launched by the authority two years ago, aims to spread the culture of rationalization in energy and water consumption within citizens ’homes, by identifying citizens’ homes with high consumption, where energy and water consumption is audited by accounting for all household appliances and identifying the consumption pattern Followed up and preparing detailed audit reports explaining the reasons for the high consumption and recommendations of the necessary improvements that must be followed to reduce the current consumption rates and bills, with the installation of various devices and guides for free based on the recommendations contained in the report.
