Al-Ohali stressed that the industrial sector is the organizational pillar of the Authority, where the Authority launched the industrial licensing platform for the first time in the history of the Kingdom, which was received applications for the issuance of licenses to engage in the activities of military industries in the areas of military manufacturing, areas of military service delivery, and the supply of products or services Military. On research and technology, Al-Ohali stressed that it is the third pillar of the Authority and is responsible for developing local capabilities through launching educational and applied programs to build human resources and embrace small and medium-sized companies and directing research and development efforts to areas that meet the needs of the military and security forces in the Kingdom in cooperation and direct coordination with several universities and local research centers And universal.
In his speech, Al-Ohali touched on the expected impact of the resettlement of the defense and security industries in the Kingdom. The economic and social dimension of the localization of 50% of the Kingdoms military spending will include the construction of a sector worth more than 30 billion riyals in 2030, and contribute to the economic diversification of the Kingdom by supporting the non-oil GDP by about 90 billion riyals total until 2030. Al-Ohali pointed out that the number of registered users through the industrial licenses portal has reached 180 users with a total of 95 applications for manufacturing and services licenses.
The Authority has handed over the first set of permits to a number of companies, led by Saudi Military Industries Company, Advanced Electronics Company, Shielding Industry Company, Saudi Advanced Technology Company and Sondos Advanced Industry Company.
The Authority has recently signed a number of memorandums of cooperation with its counterparts in several friendly countries to cooperate in the fields of military industries, development, military and security technologies, in addition to raising the efficiency of military procurement.
