Work Detail New tender for the Hygiene and Hygiene Framework Agreement: 76% of companies that pass economic evaluation are MSMEs A total of 283 suppliers went to the second stage of economic evaluation in the tender of the framework agreement of "Articles of Cleaning and Hygiene" ID 2239-5-LR19 at www.mercadopublico.cl . It should be noted that 76% of these correspond to micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs): SME 58% and Micro 18%. This tender seeks to provide more than 900 industrial cleaning products so that hospitals and public services can offer the best conditions and standards of hygiene and safety for the population. The bidding process is currently ongoing, having closed the bid submission period on August 23 with a very high participation of companies. It is about providing the industrial detergent that is used for the clothes of health professionals, of liquid chlorine, of sanitizer for bathrooms, of disinfectant cleaners for floors, of surgical gloves, of hand gel antiseptic, of antibacterial soap, among others. That is, all products that are used in hospitals throughout the public health network and that public buyers must easily acquire with quality standards, at competitive prices, complying with environmental regulations and criteria. The health sector is the largest buyer of this type of products with 32% of purchases under this framework agreement, that is, US $ 25,682,709 in 2018. In addition to hospitals in Chile and health services, it is also purchased for schools, the offices, the municipalities, the armed forces and the services. Therefore, we are concerned that the best products are offered in a way to care for Chileans, patients and children who are served on the public network. Benefits of the agreement: This bidding process has the following characteristics: The term of the framework agreement was reduced from 72 to 24 months, which encourages greater competition and greater participation of suppliers; The products were standardized to facilitate management: generic, unbranded and completely standardized tokens were made available to the bidders in order to promote the equality and competitiveness of the offers; In turn, the design of this new framework agreement stipulates maximum prices for each product to be offered in order to offer the State competitive prices, among other features. These characteristics seek to maximize the efficiency in the use of public resources by allowing a high participation of companies of all sizes, in the context of the improvement of the different purchasing modalities existing in public purchases.
