Work Detail The government focuses on the implementation of vital projects in the economic and service sectors covering all governorates MUSCAT - The Sultanate is working to accelerate the pace of the national economy by establishing new projects and injecting additional funds into the economy, according to statistics compiled by the Oman News Agency (ONA). For the full year 2018, the Board has allocated RO 129 million. During the current year, the Sultanate adopted an expansionary approach to allow the private sector to acquire new business. It also focused on completing the implementation of a number of vital projects.According to the State General Budget for the current year, the Government allocated RO 2.6 billion for investment expenses, including 1.2 RO 1 billion for development expenses, RO 800 million for oil production and RO 500 million for gas production. The estimated total public expenditure in the current years budget is RO 12.9 billion, an increase of RO 400 million over the estimated expenditure in last years budget. According to the statistical data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information, total government expenditure at the end of last May amounted to about RO5.75 billion, of which about 3.6 billion RO for current expenses, RO 868.2 million for investment expenses and RO 175 million for contributions and support in addition to actual expenses.
