Governor Alfredo Cornejo, along with the Minister of Government, Justice and Labor, Lisandro Nieri, announced this morning the construction of a new building for the attention of buses at the Cristo Redentor pass. The tender will be at the end of August and the start of work is expected in January 2020.
The president anticipated it during the opening of XXXVIII Meeting of the Paso Cristo Redentor Committee. The event was held at the Congress and Exhibition Center "Dr. Emilio Civit. "
The event was also attended by the Minister of Economy, Infrastructure and Energy, Martín Kerchner; the president of the Mendoza Tourism Entity, Gabriela Testa; the Undersecretary of Institutional Relations in the Ministry of Security, Néstor Majul; the Undersecretary of Health, Oscar Sagás; and the Argentine ambassador to Chile, José Octavio Bordón.
At the beginning of the event, the Governor gave the opening remarks and said: “It is a pleasure to have Mendoza again deliberating the border committee of our passage Christ the Redeemer and Liberators, it is important for our peoples and for both countries that we improve our work in that place. The efforts of both governments for this improvement, which contribute to the exchange of goods and greater fluidity, are visible. On the Chilean side we have seen substantive advances and they are about to finish 55 thousand square meters that they have made in the new customs building. ”
“With the national government we have put ourselves in the task of improving our international step and we have come with substantial modifications in the last three years. From the Mendoza government we have improved health, safety and have articulated with the national offices that intervene in the place, ”added the Governor.
Cornejo took the opportunity to make an announcement and said: “Today I can announce a work that is financed by the Ministry of Interior, which is a new building for the attention of buses at the Cristo Redentor pass and will be tendered at the end of August. This will help the flow of passengers. That tender is an important investment for these times and for this step, the envelopes open in November and in January we will already be under construction, with 22 months of execution ”.
Finally, the president said: “These meetings serve to expedite the procedures also so that we can all come and go to Chile more fluently and safely. I leave all the best omens and a good working day. ”
In turn, the Minister of Government, Lisandro Nieri, said: “We are working on all issues of border integration, and especially in infrastructure works, with different levels of progress, and with great investment, the largest of recent times for that area. "
“On the Chilean side, the Libertadores complex is about to open, carried out in record time, and that will result in greater agility in customs and immigration procedures; and in Horcones with two new buildings and better services when controlling microphones and cars, respectively, ”added the official.
And he stressed: “To all this we must add the different works in progress, such as the Palmira variant so that the heavy load goes directly to Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, and a Uspallata variant so that the heavy traffic does not circulate through cities ”.
“Also the recently tendered work of the Caracoles Tunnel that will imply in years the possibility of having two ways back and forth to Chile and connection with the City of Mendoza and interconnection between the different routes. It is a route that will require an investment of 2,100 million pesos, financed by the Nation ”, concluded Nieri. |
