With this exercise, the 2019 transmission planning process begins. Proposal contains 47 projects totaling approximately US $ 210 million of investment, and where a new substation in the Metropolitan Region stands out.
The National Electrical Coordinator announced its expansion proposal for the electric transmission system corresponding to 2019, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 20.936 / 2016.
The proposal is composed of 47 projects totaling about US $ 210.6 million of investment. Of the total works, four correspond to the development of the national transmission system (US $ 66.4 million), and forty-three to zonal transmission initiatives (US $ 144.2 million).
Among the projects for the expansion of the national transmission system, a static reagent compensation team stands out in the Metropolitan Region, whose main contribution corresponds to allowing greater energy flows from the south of the country.
Likewise, works are proposed in the national transmission system that will allow the efficient evacuation of new generation projects, above all renewable of variable type between the provinces of Huasco and Elqui, and in the provinces of Biobío and Llanquihue (Puerto Montt).
Among the projects for the development of zonal transmission systems, there are increases in transformer capacity and lines, and a new substation. These projects range from the Atacama region to the Los Lagos region, highlighting a complete analysis for the entire electrical system of the transformers loading capacities that connect the transmission system with the distribution facilities that supply the cities.
After the report of the Coordinator was published, it is incumbent on the National Energy Commission (CNE) to call the companies to propose projects, to subsequently issue its Preliminary Technical Report during the second semester of 2019. |
