Aurecons reputation in the hotel and entertainment space has been elevated after Dubai’s Jumeirah Al-Naseem was named Hospitality Project of the Year at the Construction Week Awards 2017. With less than a month to go until the Construction Week Awards 2018, to be held at the lavish JW Marriott Marquis on 4 December, Aurecon has revealed its 2017 win delivered a twofold boost to business. “This award win has helped Aurecon on two fronts: firstly, it has boosted the morale of the project delivery team, which put in a lot of discretionary effort into bringing Jumeirah Al-Naseem to life. Secondly, the judges’ validation of our project has given us much visibility as engineers and designers in the high-end hospitality, resorts, and entertainment space,” Aurecon told Construction Week. “The Jumeirah Al-Naseem resort is a great example of collaboration between the owner, architects, interior designers, development manager Mirage, and engineers. Everyone came together to take advantage of the resort’s prime location as Dubai’s last stretch of great beach real estate and designed a luxurious experience for the resort’s guests. As engineers, we delivered on a promise of sea views for each guest room through some very cleverly-hidden structural engineering.” READ: Aurecon: Five ways millennials can thrive in construction Aurecon nominated Dubai’s Jumeirah Al-Naseem for Hospitality Project of the Year last year, and the consultancy, which counts Etihad Towers among its projects, is going for gold again this year. “We have another hospitality project to showcase [at the CW Awards 2018]. It’s a fantastic one, which shows the ingenuity of the project team and Aurecon’s commitment to the UAE.” The business, which recently appointed Kevin Werksman as global of head of water, said it had performed well in the Middle East during the last 12 months, particularly as its clients show increased interest in how digital innovations can support construction efficiency. “Aurecon continues to perform well in the Middle East. Our clients have been particularly interested in how digital can help them, not only in the design and construction phases, but also in the concept development, post-construction, and asset management phases. Digital is an area Aurecon is strong in, and we are pleased to advise our clients on these matters.” CW Awards 2018 is supported by Gold Sponsors ALEC, ASGC, and Al Naboodah; Silver Sponsors Future Metro, Unimix, and WME; and Category Sponsors Construction Computer Software (CCS), Acrow, JLG, and Ramboll. |
