Recently, at the meeting with the Department of Culture - Society of Peoples Council of Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Planning and Investment of the city said, so far five public investment projects have been implemented at vocational schools with the total investment of over 549 billion. Specifically, the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City is implementing the project of building secondary school construction Ho Chi Minh City with a total investment of 186 billion.
Similarly, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City is implementing two projects: Procurement of vocational training equipment of Nguyen Truong To Vocational College (total investment of 14,227 billion) and construction, repair and upgrading of the University Secondary School of Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (42,416 billion VND). The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transportation has two projects: Procurement of equipment for electrical engineering (VND 6,124 billion) and renovation and investment in building 2 of Giao College Information - Transportation (VND 300,370 billion).
Representative of the Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City, since the City Peoples Committee issued Decision No. 2567 / QÐ-UBND on 23-5-2017 on promulgation of the plan implementation "Quality Improvement Program Ho Chi Minh City Vocational Education to 2020 ", the city has invested in two high-quality vocational schools and six selected majors.
Up to now, the Department has received 7 proposals for investment guidelines. In terms of investment for key industries, the Department received two out of seven proposals for investment policy of the schools. The slow progress of the projects is due to the fact that the dossiers of the units fail to meet the prescribed procedures and many units have not yet submitted their dossiers.
The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in Ho Chi Minh City said that there are 517 vocational training centers in the city. Mr. Nguyen Van Lam, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said that the city will continue to invest in building high quality schools and vocational schools. In 2017, seven public vocational education institutions in the city have set up medium-term public investment projects in the 2018-2020 period with the total capital of VND900 billion.
In addition, the Department has proposed the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to add to the list of key vocational schools for a number of vocational education institutions merged from the education and training sector.
According to Nguyen Van Lam, the remaining projects need coordination between the concerned units to soon complete the dossier. If the pace of implementation is accelerated, the investment in spacious and modern facilities will effectively attract trainees, improve the quality of training, shorten the distance between training and real estate. export.
