Work Detail Officials block the use of modern methods in the treatment of viral hepatitis? Leading experts are alarmed: Ukrainian patients "with one stroke of pen officials" lost the opportunity to be treated with modern innovative medicines, because they did not get to the updated National List of Drugs. This was stated by the doctor of medical sciences, professor, head of the department of infectious diseases NMU them. O. Bogomolets Olga Golubovskaya. Recall that the Ministry of Health together with international partners announced the launch of purchase of medicines for the state budget-2018 - this year allocated nearly 6 billion USD. Recently, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) announced the first tenders - the collection of applications will last until May 21. At a public expense, they will buy medicines and for patients with especially dangerous infectious hepatitis B and C. "Our state should be ashamed of the patients it causes to be treated for the old, dangerous for them schemes and to the international partners that contributed to Ukraines access to effective drugs for the treatment of hepatitis C at unbelievably low prices ," resented Golubovskaya Leading specialists in oncology, orphan and other diseases also spoke against the decisions of the Ministry of Health (MOH) : medical officials are accused of ignoring the possibility of effective treatment. The positions of scientists and leading physicians were not taken into account in the approval process National List of Medicinal Products. "The Ministry of Health did not have the desire to gather specialists, to consult with them, to study real needs, although there was enough time, because in 2016 the list was rejected and sent for refinement. Its a pity to state how exactly it was "refined", - the head doctor of Kharkiv city clinical multidisciplinary hospital ?17 Dmytro Skorpov stated in the press. What is actually happening behind the scenes of public procurement, advertised by the profile ministry? "Glavkom" wrote that from 2018 in Ukraine began to operate an updated National List of drugs, which includes 427 names of active substances. Every Ukrainian, while in treatment in a hospital, should be fully provided with these drugs for free. But experts say that the National List did not get vital medicines for certain categories of patients., but there a bunch of drugs "yesterday". For Ukraine, where, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), the epidemic of viral hepatitis (type B and C transmitted through the blood) is struggling, the issue of effective treatment is particularly topical. According to the latest WHO Global Report, Ukraine has entered the 17 countries with the highest prevalence of viral hepatitis C (approximately 9% of the adult population), but official statistics artificially understate the data. According to specialists, in Ukraine, about 2.5 million people are already infected with viral hepatitis! But of this number, about 150 thousand people know about their diagnosis, that is, only 7% of them are infected, and even less is being treated. "It is known to everyone that interferons that are included in the National List of Essential Medicines for the Treatment of Hepatitis C go back in the past, because such therapy is very long, compared with the current treatment regimens, its effectiveness is low, and side effects often make patients refuse treatment. Currently, in the world, direct-acting drugs (non-interferon schemes) are commonly used, which ensure the recovery of virtually all patients with viral hepatitis C. These drugs are relatively safe, and the course is short. This is a real breakthrough! And at one point we made every effort to make such drugs available to Ukrainian patients. It took a lot of time and effort to register original innovative means in Ukraine. In the end, they were included in the domestic standards of treatment, and most importantly - we agreed with the manufacturing companies about the unprecedented reduction in prices for these drugs , which the state began to buy for budget funds, "- said the honored doctor, Professor Olga Golubovskaya. She emphasizes that because of the lack of innovative drugs in the National list, now the regions can not buy them, and therefore have to treat patients with old protocols. Consequently, a paradoxical situation has arisen: many regions have received funding from local budgets for the implementation of their treatment programs, they are ready to buy modern drugs (cheaper times!), But they will have to buy what is "allowed". "The most striking thing is that the National List was not even consistent with the head of the expert group of the MOH for the treatment of viral hepatitis", - professor Golubovska is indignant. The introduction of modern methods in the treatment of viral hepatitis, the use of which has now been blocked in Ukraine, also told the GlavkomExecutive Director, co-founder of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization "Stop Hepatitis" Dmytro Koval. In 2009, he himself passed an extremely complex therapy against the disease under the old protocols, cured, spending more than $ 30,000 on it. Koval made a lot of effort to ensure that Ukrainians were given access to treatment under new methods and even more cheaply - a course of treatment depending on the prescribed drugs ranges from $ 900 to $ 2,500. Due to Dmitry Kovals persistence, the State Program for the treatment of infectious hepatitis has been approved in Ukraine, and national standards have been adopted - clinical guidelines and ducts Oli of prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis.
