Report helps government agencies use procurement technology to accelerate their procurement process and reduce government spending

WASHINGTON, Jan. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Public Spend Forum, in collaboration with Spend Matters, is pleased to announce the release of the Public Procurement Technology Landscape Report – the first in a series of reports and initiatives that provide in-depth market intelligence and insight into the public procurement landscape.
This report follows Public Spend Forums successful Public Procurement Technology Symposium that brought together government leaders, global institutions, and innovative companies to learn how eProcurement is transforming public procurement and creating open government markets. This event brought together over 150 local, state, federal, and international government agencies.

Among the case studies highlighted in the report and featured at the symposium is Virginias eProcurement Program run by Shane Caudill, Director of the E-Procurement Bureau at the Commonwealth of Virginia. At the symposium, Caudill spoke about how Virginias eProcurement Program – Virginias online, electronic procurement system – has been utilized by state agency and local government buyers to announce bidding opportunities, receive quotes, and place orders for goods and services.
"By utilizing EVAs eProcurement Program, state agency and local government buyers have been able to save an estimated $30 million on items and services purchased due to organizational improvements and lower cost sourcing tools," said Caudill.
