| Work Detail | City officials are announcing construction plans for the next two weeks for the sewer separation and other road projects. The projects will continue in the Willimansett and Chicopee Center areas. Traffic delays and street closings are expected during the periods of road work on any of the streets. Motorists are advised to avoid the areas where construction is happening. Hampden Street will remain closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists are asked to obey the signs even if they do not immediately see workers in the roads. Local traffic and parents bring students to Patrick E. Bowe School will be allowed on the street but are advised to use caution. The sewer separation project schedule is dependent on weather and could also be changed for other unforeseen circumstances. Here is a schedule of construction activity on different roads in the city: Brown Street will see asphalt grinding on Sept. 6 through 8. Burlingame Street will be paved with the base course Monday through Sept. 2. Catherine Street will be paved with the base course Monday through Sept. 2. Charpentier Boulevard will see asphalt grinding on Sept. 6 through 8. Ducharme Avenue will have trench patching Monday through Wednesday. Duncan Street will be paved with the base course Monday through Sept. 2. Front and Depot streets will be torn up for the installation of the sewer main Sept. 6 through 9. Hampden Street work will continue on sewer and water main installation. The road will be closed to all but Bowe School and through traffic. Hopwood Street will be paved with the base course Monday through Sept. 2. Narragansett Boulevard will be paved with the base course Monday through Sept. 2. Norman Street will be paved with the base course Monday through Sept. 2. Perry Street will be paved with the base course Monday through Sept. 2. Pickering Street will be paved with the base course Monday through Sept. 2. Roger Street will see asphalt grinding on Sept. 6 through 8. Shepherd Street will see asphalt grinding on Sept. 6 through 8. Skeele Street will be paved with the base course Monday through Sept. 2. Thomas Street will see asphalt grinding on Sept. 6 through 8. Warregan Street will be paved with the base course Monday through Sept. 2. |
