Work Detail The Transportation Ministry plans to revise the regulation on National Aviation Security Program (PKPN), following the findings of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Changes issued by the Ministry include the revision of Transportation Minister's Regulation No.90/2016 on the Amendment of PM No.127/2015 of the National Aviation Safety Program.

Agoes Soebagio, the ministry's Head of Cooperation and Public Relations Directorate General, said the regulations were made based on Annex 17 part 3.1.1 ICAO, which stipulates that all member states must establish and implement their respective national aviation security programs.

"The national aviation security program is a written document containing rules, procedures and security measures taken to protect the aviation sector from unlawful conduct," he said in Jakarta, Thursday, September 8.

Agoes said the rule needs to be revised after the ICAO audit team discovered four deficiencies at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on October 29, 2015.

The four findings were related to the implementation of background check; the airport's baggage checking that has not utilized the baggage handling system; testing against x-ray machines by aviation security personnel; and the rejection of candidates for aviation security.
