Work Detail New PPA will supply renewable power to 48,000 households between July 2025 and December 2026 Danske Commodities has signed a power purchase agreement with Germany’s largest independent energy purchasing group, to deliver around 180GWh of wind energy over 18 months. The Danish energy trading company said the deal with e.optimum will supply roughly 48,000 households with renewable electricity between July 2025 and December 2026. The pay-as-forecasted agreement marks the companies’ first wind PPA in Germany and builds on a trading partnership launched in January 2025. Danske Commodities will supply power from its German wind portfolio as part of its broader strategy to support the energy transition in Europe’s largest economy. “The collaboration with Danske Commodities marks a significant step in our mission to transform the German energy market into a more sustainable one,” said Boris Käser, chairman of the executive board at e.optimum. “We are proud to be working with such a respected partner to secure reliable and cost-efficient energy for our customers.” Sofie Duedahl, head of European origination at Danske Commodities, said the deal reflects the company’s ability to tailor PPAs for market needs. “Germany is not only a core trading market for us, but also location of the majority of the renewables assets we have under management,” she said. Danske Commodities, active in Germany since 2004, currently manages more than 6GW of renewable capacity in the country and over 15GW across Europe.
