This new plant marks ZFs 19th manufacturing facility in India and its 11th site in Tamil Nadu, underscoring the states strategic importance to the companys operations in the subcontinent. The investment is set to bolster ZFs growth trajectory in India, enabling it to supply cutting-edge technology to both domestic and global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). A key focus of the new Coimbatore plant will be the industrialization of the ERGOPOWER M transmission. This automatic-powershift transmission, optimized for various construction machinery applications, is widely recognized as a benchmark in the market for its superior performance and quality. This localization will directly support the escalating demand from the Indian construction segment and its OEMs. Furthermore, the new manufacturing facility will also undertake the localization of ZFs EcoMet transmission, specifically designed for the Indian railway market. With over a century of experience as a railway technology supplier, ZF boasts a comprehensive portfolio that includes advanced driveline and chassis solutions, alongside digital offerings such as connect@rail. This expansion in Coimbatore is expected to further strengthen ZFs position in Indias rapidly developing rail infrastructure. |
