The photovoltaic infrastructure, with a capacity of 1,102 kWp, is located in San Antonio de Palmito. It is part of the Colombia Solar – Energy for Vulnerable Populations program, promoted by the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the Non-Conventional Energy and Efficient Energy Management Fund (Fenoge). The Colombian Ministry of Mines and Energy and the Non-Conventional Energy and Efficient Energy Management Fund (Fenoge) have inaugurated a photovoltaic installation in San Antonio de Palmito, Sucre department. This project will directly benefit 500 families in income strata 1 and 2, as well as public institutions in the municipality. In a statement, the initiative is explained as part of the Colombia Solar – Energy for Vulnerable Populations program, which includes the construction of 14 solar farms in seven departments in the Colombian Caribbean. The facility features 1,975 solar panels and an installed capacity of 1,102 kWp, with an estimated annual generation of approximately 1,680 MWh. Benefiting users are expected to save an average of 133 kWh per month, which will be reflected in their electricity bills, especially for lower-income families. The project also includes providing electricity to public institutions such as educational centers, health centers, libraries, and senior citizen homes. These institutions will cover a significant portion of their energy needs with the energy generated by the farm, which will positively impact their budgets and the provision of essential services to the community. |
