Work Detail The Santa Fe Productive Entities Roundtable (MEP) will request meetings with provincial authorities to determine the exact public works projects that will be financed with the loan of up to $1 billion that the Maximiliano Pullaro administration is seeking to authorize in the Legislature. At the same time, they are raising the urgent need to activate the commercial management of the container dock at the port of Santa Fe , which has operational infrastructure but lacks an effective strategy for capturing cargo and working with shipping companies. The claim is based on unresolved issues: while the capital region awaits key logistics projects, such as the Sauce Viejo logistics park or a direct road connection to the new port site over the waterway, the states attention has focused on major investments in the south of the province, such as the third lane of the Rosario-San Lorenzo highway. During a meeting at the local headquarters of the Argentine Chamber of Construction, representatives from sectors such as the Stock Exchange, the Rural Society, the Industrial Union, the Commercial Center, the Chamber of Exporters, and business leaders expressed their concern about the lack of public planning for projects that facilitate foreign trade from the provincial capital and its hinterland. On the other hand, business leaders focused on the lack of an efficient commercial management structure to promote the use of the container dock. Despite having ready facilities (customs, cranes, Senasa), the port authority does not effectively coordinate with cargo shippers or coastal or international shipping lines . The recent deregulation of cabotage by the national government opens an opportunity, but requires public-private coordination. Within this framework, the possibility of private management of the container dock is being considered , an option the province has not ruled out, provided it guarantees transparency, efficiency, and logistical benefits for the region. Undersecretary of Transportation Jorge Henn acknowledged this concern in meetings with local business leaders, where the operating costs that discourage use of the port were also discussed. Finally, there are also expectations regarding the incorporation of the Exporta Simple system at Sauce Viejo Airport , which could facilitate high-value air exports, taking advantage of the existing infrastructure and the temporary international terminal status it currently has due to the partial closure of Fisherton.
