Closing Date: 25 Jun 2025 Type: Consultancy Who we are: Amalas mission is to use the power of education to transform the lives of young refugees, their communities and the world. We are a non-profit organisation with big ambitions to create a deep and lasting impact for young people who are displaced. We have developed the first secondary level programme and qualification for out of school refugee and crisis affected youth, and we also offer Changemaker Courses in areas such as Peace-building, Ethical Leadership, and Social Entrepreneurship. Our approach to education is conveyed through our human-centred, context-inclusive curricula and learning programmes that are relevant to the lives that our students lead today and will lead in the future. The role: This role is responsible for the teaching, learning and wellbeing of a group of Amala students. This takes place during the facilitation of the courses on the Amala Global Secondary Diploma (GSD) and during the mentorship of students as they consider their learning, their wellbeing and their hopes for their future. Responsibilities for Amalas Transformative Education Course Facilitation Responsible for the effective design and facilitation of at least one Amala course per semester Design and document engaging and effective learning experiences and resources that support appropriate and sufficient progress of all students towards the development and demonstration of Amalas competencies Deliver engaging and effective learning experiences and resources that support appropriate and sufficient progress of all students towards the development and demonstration of Amalas competencies Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of learning experiences and resources on the appropriate and sufficient progress of all students towards course goals and verification of success indicators Continually strive to improve competency development and evaluation of learning experiences and resources Use Amala resources in an ethical manner and in service to student learning Student Mentoring Support assigned students in identifying work in their portfolio that can be used as evidence for proficiency in the Amala competencies Enable students to reflect on how identified work demonstrates the success indicators in the Amala competencies Assess student work against Amalas evaluation criteria for verification and updating this in the credit tracker Provide feedback to students on improving future performance and if relevant, reasons for not verifying a success indicator Support students in developing tools and strategies to overcome challenges they are facing Support engagement of family and significant adults in the students learning journey Safeguarding and Wellbeing Adhere to the safeguarding policy at all times when working individually with students; with groups of students; online or in person Proactively identify and document any wellbeing issues concerning assigned students, and where appropriate or required, collaborating with the programme coordinator and/or manager to determine next steps (e.g. referrals) Proactively foster an open, inclusive and engaging environment where all students are part of the Amala community and feel able to share concerns they have Student Pathways Build relationships and partnerships with community members and organisations (e.g. projects, pathways, mentorships etc.) to support student learning and pathways Support students in identifying realistic pathway opportunities Support students in their application for pathway opportunities Where appropriate and requested, produce references and recommendation letters for students Professional Growth & Development Continuously strive for improvement in your ability to support the development, evidencing and evaluation of student competencies in the classroom Continuously foster Amalas culture as a learning organisation grounded by our collaborative norms, values, beliefs and code of conduct Participate and share in all aspects of the Amala Educator Development Programme Additional Responsibilities (as needed) Support the Programme Coordinator with logistical aspects involved in programme delivery e.g. student internet bundles, student transportation support and attendance Support the Programme Manager to represent Amala externally to increase Amalas recognition and impact Support the Education Programmes Team with data collection for accurate and robust M&E Undertake other actions, as and when required, to support Amala students learning and wellbeing Tender Link : https://reliefweb.int/job/4158738/amala-global-secondary-diploma-gsd-educator
