Dec 2024 Intervention Sector(S): Agriculture Bina Project On-The-Job Training Hammam Al Nouri Lebanon Semeurs DAvenir (Sda), Association Created In 2010, Is The Operational Partner Of The Iecd. As Part Of Its Partnership With Iecd, Sda Implements Projects In The Field Of Entrepreneurship, Education, Training, And Professional Integration. Bina Was Created In 2021. The Aim Of This Project Is To Enhance Socio-Professional Integration Of Vulnerable Populations While Training Them On A Site In Order For Them To Become Apprentices In A Trade Of Their Choosing. Bina Specializes In Heritage Preservation And Energy Efficiency/Construction Techniques. This Project Targets Beneficiaries From Vulnerable Backgrounds, With Ages Varying From 18 To 35. As Part Of The Hammam Al Nouri Restoration Project, Iecd And Sda Seek To Subcontract Qualified Landscape Subcontractors To Treat The Vegetation Growth Affecting The Hammam Before Launching The Restoration Works And Associated Training Activities. The Vegetation Treatment Is Critical To Ensuring The Structural Stability And Preventing Further Deterioration Of The Building. The Selected Subcontractor Will Conduct Vegetation Treatment At Hammam Al Nouri, Located In The Old City Of Tripoli. The Task Involves Removing Vegetation And Transportation And Disposal Of All Residues And Debris. The Task Involves Removing Vegetation And Transportation And Disposal Of All Residues And Debris. The Subcontractor Will Be Responsible For The Following Tasks: 1. Vegetation Removal Assessment And Preparation: Conduct An Initial Survey To Identify All Vegetation Affecting The Building, Including Vines, Moss, And Other Plants On Walls, Domes, Vaults, And Rooftops. Removal Methodology: O Large Plants And Vines: Cut Plants At The Root Level Using The Cut-And-Paint Technique: Cut The Vegetation At The Base To Prevent Regrowth. Apply An Appropriate Herbicide To The Cut Surface To Kill The Root System. Where Cutting And Removal Are Not Feasible, Use A Herbicide Injection Technique For The Root System. Allow The Plant To Dry And Wither Naturally Before Removing Detachable Material From The Structure. O Moss And Lower Order Plants: Use A Biocide To Kill Biological Growth. Apply The Biocide With Care To Ensure Compatibility With The Historic Building Materials. Remove Moss And Residue Using A Soft Bristle Brush And Water, Working From The Bottom Upward To Minimize Streaking. General Note: O Herbicide Application May Need To Be Repeated Depending On The Type Of Plant And Its Growth Cycle. Treatments Should Align With The Plants Seasonal Growth Patterns And Continue Until The Vegetation Is Fully Removed. 2. Transportation And Disposal Collect All Debris, Residues, And Dead Vegetation From The Site. Safely Transport And Dispose Of Waste. 3. Protection Of The Building Use The Gentlest Means Possible To Remove Vegetation, Advancing To More Aggressive Techniques Only If Necessary And In Small Steps. Avoid Using Power Washing Or Any Methods That May Damage The Fragile Structure. Ensure No Structural Materials, Such As Stones Or Mortar, Are Dislodged Or Weakened During The Removal Process. 4. Safety Measures Adhere To Safety Protocols To Protect Workers And The Public.
