The Purpose Of This Assignment Is To Carry Out Ecohydrological Restoration Measures Within The Hobos Nature Reserve Of The Agency For Nature And Forests (Anb) And Is Located In Overpelt, In The Province Of Limburg. The Hobos Area Is Currently Struggling With Desiccation, Partly Due To The Over-Dimensioned Gortenloop That Centrally Crosses The Area. The Gortenloop Cuts Unnecessarily Deep Into The Ground Level In Certain Parts, Causing The Groundwater Level To Drop. In Addition, The Watercourse, Together With Some Roads That Function As A Dike-Forming Body, Prevents Natural Drainage Of Surface Water Along The Area. The Intended Measures In The Project Area Aim To Restore The Area To A More Natural Hydrology And To Increase Water Retention. This Involves Deepening The Deeply Incised Gortenloop, Filling In Agricultural Ditches And A Cattle Drinking Pond And Removing Roads That Function As Dikes.
