Forestry Services – Supply Of Biomass Harvest. The Task: - The Danish Nature Agency Must Have Carried Out A Task Regarding Gentle Harvesting Of Biomass With Special Machines On Soft Lowland Areas In Nørreådalen In The Years 2024 And 2025. - The Task Includes Harvesting And Breaking Down Meadow Plants So That It Becomes A Biomass That Can Be Used In A Biogas Plant. The Biomass Must Be Collected And Transported To Truck-Safe Roads And Places Where It Is Unloaded. Harvesting Is Done On Moist, Soft Meadows, Where Ordinary Agricultural Machines Will Get Stuck And Destroy The Soil. Only Special Machines With A Low Field Pressure Are Therefore Able To Carry Out The Task. This Special Form Of Harvesting Has Been Carried Out By The Nature Agency With Special Machines Since 2014. - The Harvest Must Take Place In The Mid-Season. July To Mid-September. - The Harvest Area Is 228.71 Ha. A Map Of The Areas Appears In Appendix 1.1. - For A Further Description And Requirements For The Tendered Task, Please Refer To The Requirement Specification Appendix 1. - Background: - The State Climate Low-Lying Project Kvorning Aims To Extract And Extensively Operate Agricultural Land On Carbon-Rich Low-Lying Soils In The Nørreå Valley, Restore The Natural Hydrology And Create Coherence Between The Natural Areas Within The N2000 Area. - The Project Ensures The Greatest Possible Reduction In C02 Emissions From The Low-Lying Soils And Nitrogen Conversion Of Added Nitrogen From The Catchment Area. - With The Realization Of The Project, There Will Also Be A Reduced Release Of Nutrients To The Randers Fjord Watershed, Which According To The Watershed Plan Needs Action. - In The Planning, The Greatest Possible Consideration Has Been Given To The Preservation, Protection And Improvement Of Existing Natural Areas, Including § 3 Protected And Natura 2000 Areas And Annex Iv Species. - The Low-Lying Climate Project Is Primarily Expected To Be Realized By Stopping The Intensive Drainage Of The Project Area, Which Will Result In More Natural Hydrological Conditions In The River Valley. - Harvesting Biomass Within The Project Area Contributes To Fulfilling Several Of The Aims Of The Project. Light-Open Conditions Are Created For The Benefit Of A More Species-Rich Flora, Overgrowth With Tall Dominant Plants Is Reduced, The Meadows Become Available As A Pantry For Meadow Birds, The Nutrient Load To The Aquatic Environment Is Reduced And The Risk Of Climate-Damaging Gases Being Formed From The Low-Lying Soils Is Reduced. - Since 2018, Harvesting Of Biomass Has Been Carried Out Within The Area That Today Constitutes The Kvorning Climate Low-Lying Project. - The Aim Has Been To Contribute To The Development Of A Production Chain For Biomass From These Areas. From Special Machines That Can Gently Harvest The Biomass Under These Difficult Conditions, To Transport And Marketing - So It Becomes A Viable Business And The Meadows Come Back Into Extensive Operation. - In 2023, That Goal Has Been Met, And It Is Now Considered A New Operating Branch. - The Biomass From The 2024 Harvest Is Allocated In Advance To Nature Energy. -
