Mountain Pine Beetle Ground Survey– Rocky Mountain House, Edson, Whitecourt, Grande Prairie And Slave Lake Forest Areas . The Province Requires Qualified Contractors To Provide Mountain Pine Beetle (Mpb) Ground Survey Activities Within The Rocky Mountain House, Edson, Whitecourt, Grande Prairie And Slave Lake Forest Areas. Since 2019 All The Forest Areas In Alberta, Except For The Calgary Forest Area, Have Experienced Large Reductions In Mpb Populations. In Order To Help The Province Gain An Understanding Of How Mpb Are Behaving At Low Population Levels, New Data Collection Activities Are Being Added To The Usual Mpb Ground Survey Services. The Mountain Pine Beetle Detection And Management In Alberta Manual (The Blue Book) Outlines The Steps To Perform A Traditional Mpb Concentric Ground Survey. Appendix B Of This Rfp Outlines The Additional Data Collection Requirements For The 2023/24 Season
