Jul 2024 Intervention Sector(S): Agriculture The Lebanon Agriculture And Rural Empowerment (Are) Activity, Funded By Usaid And Implemented By Chemonics International Through Its Local Branch, Chemonics Beirut S.A.R.L, Is Seeking Grant Applications For Implementation Of The Agri-Business Productivity Improvements To Strengthen Food Security In Lebanon - Optimizing Agri-Production Primary Energy Use Through Thermal Partition Insulation Activities Designed To Bolster Agri-Food Production And Processing Facilities Ability To Invest In Improving Their Agri-Business Margins That Have A Clear Reduction In Operational Costs Or Improvements In Sales. Ares Support Includes But Is Not Limited To Food Processors, Milk Producers, Chicken-Egg Producers, And Other. The Intervention Will Provide Support For Agri-Businesses Seeking To Lower Their Fuel Consumption In Their Daily Production Process(Es), By Optimizing Their In-Factory Energy Use Through The Investment In Improved Thermal Insulation. Approximately 35 Grants Will Be Awarded Under This Intervention To Assit With The Installation Of In-Factory Upgrades That Lead To Substantial Energy Efficiency Improvements. The Total Grant Amount Allocated For This Intervention Is $200,000. Are Will Cover A Maximum Of $6,000 Or 85% Of The Total System Cost For Each Beneficiary To Install Thermal Insulation To Reduce Heating And Cooling Costs For Their Agribusiness. These Grants Will Be Awarded And Implemented In Accordance With Usaid And Us Government Regulations Governing Grants Under Contracts And AreS Internal Grant Management Policies. Are Has Shortlisted One Supplier As Exclusive, Pre-Qualified Supplier For This Intervention Design, Implementation, And Commissioning. Farmers Are Encouraged To Contact The Supplier And Select What System Would Be Most Appropriate For Their Agribusiness Facilities. The Details Of The Systems Along With Specifications Are Outlined In Annex B. The Grant Application Along With Related Annexes Are Included In This Aps. How To Apply The Project Will Hold Online Pre-Application Workshops On Ms Teams As Per The Below: The First Pre-Application Workshop Will Be Conducted On July 26, 2023, On Microsoft Teams At 11Am. The Deadline For Confirming Attendance To This Pre-Application Workshop Is July 21, 2023 At 5Pm. The Second Pre-Application Workshop Will Be Conducted On September 15, 2023, On Microsoft Teams At 2Pm. The Deadline For Confirming Attendance To This Pre-Application Workshop Is September 12, 2023 At 5Pm. The Third Pre-Application Workshop Will Be Conducted On November 30, 2023, On Microsoft Teams At 11Am. The Deadline For Confirming Attendance To This Pre-Application Workshop Is November 24, 2023 At 5Pm. Note: Additional Pre-Application Workshops Will Be Scheduled As Needed During The Course Of The Aps. The Workshops Will Allow Eligible And Interested Applicants To Ask Questions About The Aps And Receive Guidance On How To Complete The Application Form.
