The Proportion Of Older People Is Expected To Further Increase To 14% By 2030. Older People Are Likely To Live With One Or More Non-Communicable Diseases, Such As Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Or Mental Health Disease. As The Disease Progresses, It May Become Increasingly Challenging For Older People To Engage In The Activities Of Daily Living, Such As Working, Driving, Socializing With Others, Pursuing Hobbies, Or Participating In Self-Care Activities. Occupational Activities Refer To A Group Of Everyday Life Activities Which People Engage With, Bringing Meaning To The Individual And Common To Their Culture. As There Exists A Relationship Between Occupation, Health, And Well-Being, To Achieve Good Health And Well-Being, An Individual Needs To Create A Balanced Lifestyle By Engaging In Daily Occupations. The Occupational Engagement Activities (Oea) Program Will Be Implemented By The Occupational Therapists In A Primary Health Care Setting, As A New Concept Of Health Promotion For Older People. The Purpose Of This Project Is To Develop An Occupational Engagement Activities Program For Older People, Conduct Training Of Trainers For The Occupational Therapists, And Conduct Oea Program Evaluation. Purpose/Specific Objective Of The Activity The Primary Purpose Of This Contract Is To Develop An Occupational Engagement Activities (Oea) Program For Older Adults To Be Implemented By Occupational Therapists In Primary Care Clinics Under The Ministry Of Health (Moh) In Malaysia. Methods To Carry Out The Activity This Project Will Involve The Development Of The Occupational Engagement Activities Program For Older People, Followed By A Training Of Trainers For The Occupational Therapist State Coordinators In Moh Malaysia, And Program Evaluation. Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out Output 1 Develop A Set Of Activities To Be Implemented Under The Oea Program Deliverable 1.1 Through Desk-Based Research, Create A List Of Evidence-Based Activities Which Promote Healthy Ageing And Could Be Implemented Under The Oea Program Deliverable 1.2 Through Interviews/Focus Group Discussions/Workshops (As Appropriate) With The Key Stakeholders, Develop The Set Of Activities To Be Implemented Under The Oea Program Deliverable 1.3 Develop A Mini-Handbook For The Oea Program, Detailing The Activities, Means Of Implementation, Supporting Guidance, And Suggested Activity Schedule.
