The Project Includes The Establishment Of A New Outer Breakwater North Of The Entrance To Vardø Harbour, As Well As Deepening At Hasselneset To Ensure Satisfactory Access After The Approach Is Narrowed As A Result Of The New Breakwater. The Jetty Will Have A Total Length Of Around 660 Meters And Will Be Built In Water Depths Down To 35 Metres. The Dredging At Hasselneset Includes Both Dredging Of Loose Masses And Underwater Blasting Of Rock, With A Total Volume Of Around 45,000 M³. The Masses From The Dredging Will Be Reused In The Breakwater Construction. Large Parts Of The Work Will Be Carried Out From The Sea Using A Temporary Construction Island. All External Stone Masses For The Breakwater Construction Must Be Transported By Sea. The Project Is Therefore Largely Dependent On Sea-Based Logistics, Specialized Equipment And Execution Under Demanding Weather And Wave Conditions. The Project Is Subject To Extensive Environmental Requirements And Several Public Permits, Including Work In The Sea, Dredging, Underwater Blasting, Environmental Monitoring And Plastic Accounting.
