Architectural, Construction, Engineering And Inspection Services - Future Of Transport In The Thun Region, Work Package 3: Urban, Traffic, Structural And Environmental Planning Feasibility Study Of Two Tunnel Variants. Work Package 3: In-Depth Urban Development Or Urban, Settlement, Traffic, Structural Engineering And Environmental Planning Feasibility Study For The Two Tunnel Solutions “Hübelitunnel” And “Aarecrossing South” (General Planner) The “Traffic Future Region Thun” Project Builds On The Thun City Center Traffic Study – Right Side Of The Lake, Which Was Developed On Behalf Of The Thun Development Area By The End Of 2023. Three Variants Were Examined To Improve The Traffic Situation In The Long Term: The Hübeli Tunnel, The Aare South Crossing And An Overall Traffic Variant With Traffic Controls And Expansions For Public Transport And Bicycle Traffic. All Variants Are Fundamentally Considered Feasible; However, The Overall Transport Variant Was Rated As The Most Cost-Effective And Effective Solution. In The Event That This Is Not Sufficient, The Two Tunnel Variants Should Be Examined In More Detail. In Discussions About Possible Co-Financing, The Federal Government Emphasized That A Tunnel Project Should Not Be Viewed In Isolation, But Rather Must Be Embedded In A Convincing Overall Concept.
