Objective of the consultancy: The consultant will be responsible for coordinating and articulating cooperation initiatives with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of the Navy and other key actors in the security sector in Mexico, with the support of the Country Director. It will also be the point of contact between MAG and these actors for all matters related to the preparation of cooperation agreements, as well as to the programming and planning of activities between the entities. Activities This vacancy seeks to fill the following activities: · Cooperate in the possible development of cooperation agreements (e.g., Memorandums of Understanding) between MAG and the Ministry of the Navy, government entities, and/or other key actors in the security sector in Mexico. Support and assist the Country Director as needed in this task. · Provide technical, policy and practical advice to the Country Director in support of the implementation of the activities of the MAG programme in Mexico. · Plan, organize, and facilitate meetings, coordination, and the exchange of information between MAG, the Ministry of National Defense, the Secretariat of the Navy, and other key actors in the security sector in Mexico. · Strengthen communications and the exchange of information between MAG, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of the Navy, and other key actors in the security sector in Mexico. · To act as the resource center and as a contact person with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of the Navy and other key actors in the security sector in Mexico and in the different processes that were developed within the framework of said contract. · Prepare activity reports, accounts and presentations to the Country Director, as needed. · Other activities assigned by the Country Directorate. Profile Requested Required Qualifications · Bachelors degree. · English proficiency (desirable) Work Experience · Retired or former high-ranking military officer of the Ministry of Defense or Navy. · Previous experience with NGOs, international organizations or the humanitarian sector (desirable). · Experience in arms and ammunition management issues (desirable). Knowledge and skills · Excellent verbal and written communication. · Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously. · Negotiation skills. · Strong skills in reading, arithmetic and computer science (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint), as well as in the use of search engines and e-mail.
