Since 2017, the organization has expanded its programmes to different regions across Lebanon. USPEaK works to empower young people, women and children through education, skills development, civic engagement, social and economic participation, and access to livelihood opportunities. Its educational programmes include English-language instruction, digital skills, academic support, entrepreneurship, employability skills and professional development. Education has been at the heart of USPEaKs work since its establishment. The organization has extensive experience developing context-sensitive curricula and delivering learner-centred programmes to students from diverse social and economic backgrounds. USPEaK combines academic learning with practical skills, interactive methodologies and the responsible use of digital tools to make quality education more accessible. Consultancy Opportunity USPEaK is seeking qualified and experienced consultants to design and deliver interactive online SAT preparation courses in the following areas: SAT English: Reading and Writing SAT Mathematics Applicants may apply for either SAT English or SAT Mathematics. Allocation of Instructional Hours The online courses will include: SAT Reading: 14 instructional hours SAT Writing: 14 instructional hours SAT Mathematics: 14 instructional hours The selected SAT English consultant will deliver a total of 28 instructional hours: 14 hours for Reading and 14 hours for Writing. The selected SAT Mathematics consultant will deliver a total of 14 instructional hours. The final course schedule and session distribution will be agreed upon between USPEaK and the selected consultants. Purpose of the Assignment The purpose of this consultancy is to provide students with structured and practical preparation for the SAT. The selected teachers will help students strengthen their subject knowledge, become familiar with SAT question formats, develop effective test-taking strategies, improve time management and build confidence in completing SAT-style assessments. The courses must be interactive, student-centred and appropriate for online delivery. Consultants should be able to combine direct instruction with guided practice, individual and group participation, exercises, assessments and constructive feedback. USPEaK will provide the selected consultants with access to a Zoom Pro account for delivering the online sessions. Teachers living abroad are eligible. Scope of Work The selected consultants will be expected to: Develop a structured syllabus covering the assigned SAT component within the allocated instructional hours. Prepare detailed session plans, presentations, exercises and learning materials. Ensure that the course content is aligned with current SAT content areas and question formats. Explain key concepts clearly and provide practical strategies for answering SAT questions. Integrate guided practice, independent exercises and SAT-style questions into the sessions. Teach students effective time-management and test-taking techniques. Use interactive online tools to maintain engagement and encourage active participation. Assign and review relevant exercises or practice tests when appropriate. Monitor students attendance, participation and progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students. Conduct a final assessment to measure progress. Coordinate regularly with the designated USPEaK team member. Submit attendance records and a brief final report summarizing the course, student engagement, progress, challenges and recommendations. Provide USPEaK with the final syllabus, presentations, assessments and learning materials used during the course. Expected Deliverables The selected consultants will be responsible for producing the following: A finalized course syllabus approved by USPEaK. A clear distribution of topics across the allocated instructional hours. Session plans and supporting materials Interactive online SAT preparation sessions. Attendance and student-progress records. A brief final narrative report. Required Qualifications Applicants should demonstrate: A university degree in English, education, mathematics or another relevant field. Strong subject knowledge in the area for which they are applying. Previous teaching or training experience. Familiarity with the structure, content and question formats of the SAT. Previous experience preparing students for the SAT or other standardized examinations. Experience delivering online education or training. Strong English-language and communication skills. Ability to develop lesson plans and assessments. Strong facilitation and classroom-management skills. Ability to engage students with different learning levels and needs. Competence in using Zoom and other digital teaching tools. Reliability, professionalism and commitment to the agreed schedule and deliverables. Previous experience delivering online SAT preparation courses is highly desirable. Technical Proposal Requirements Applicants must submit a technical proposal containing the following sections: 1. Understanding of the Assignment A brief explanation of the applicants understanding of the purpose of the course, the needs of SAT candidates and the proposed approach to preparing students for the relevant SAT component. 2. Proposed Syllabus Applicants must provide a detailed syllabus presenting the topics, skills and learning outcomes to be covered during the allocated hours. The proposed syllabus should cover: 14 hours of SAT Reading and 14 hours of SAT Writing for applicants to the SAT English assignment; or 14 hours of SAT Mathematics for applicants to the SAT Mathematics assignment. The syllabus should clearly show how the content will be distributed across the sessions. 3. Teaching Methodology Applicants should explain: How concepts and strategies will be introduced and practised; How different student ability levels will be addressed; How students will receive feedback; How progress will be monitored; and How theoretical instruction will be balanced with practical SAT exercises. 4. Online Engagement Plan Applicants should describe how they will maintain active student engagement during online sessions, including: Individual and group participation; Interactive exercises; Breakout-room activities, where appropriate; Polls, quizzes and educational games; Collaborative problem-solving; Practice questions and timed exercises; and Methods for encouraging participation from less confident students. 5. Digital Tools The technical proposal must identify the digital tools, applications or platforms the applicant plans to use for: Online instruction; Presentations; Student interaction; Quizzes and assessments; Collaborative activities; Sharing educational materials; Assignments and practice exercises; and Monitoring progress. USPEaK will provide a Zoom Pro account. Applicants should identify any additional tools they recommend and clarify whether those tools are free or require paid subscriptions. 6. Preferred Educational Resources Applicants should identify the resources they recommend using, such as: SAT preparation books; Official practice materials; Digital question banks; Practice examinations; Educational websites; Online exercises; and Consultant-developed materials. Applicants should clearly indicate whether any recommended resources would involve additional costs for USPEaK or the students. 7. Assessment Approach Applicants should explain how they propose to assess: Students starting levels; Progress during the course; Participation and completion of assigned work; and Performance at the end of the course. 8. IT and Online-Teaching Skills Applicants must describe their: General IT skills; Experience using Zoom; Experience with online-learning or learning-management platforms; Ability to prepare and share digital educational materials; Experience using interactive teaching and assessment tools; Ability to manage breakout rooms and online participation; Approach to addressing basic technical difficulties; and Previous experience delivering engaging online courses. 9. Relevant Experience Applicants should briefly present their relevant experience, particularly in: SAT preparation; English, reading, writing or mathematics instruction; Standardized-test preparation; Curriculum development; Online teaching; and Teaching adolescents or young adults. 10. Availability Applicants should provide: Their earliest possible starting date; Available days and hours; Preferred session length; and Any scheduling limitations. 11. Expected Hourly Rate Applicants must state their proposed hourly consultancy rate or expected hourly-rate range. The proposed rate should cover: Preparation of the syllabus and session plans; Development or adaptation of learning materials; Delivery of the online sessions; Preparation and correction of assessments and exercises; Coordination with USPEaK; and Submission of the required records and final report.
