Request for proposals for Polio Eradication Technical Services Support Scope of Work: Assignments may range from short-term technical consultations to extended field deployments and may include remote, hybrid, and in-country support. Consultants will work closely with FHI 360 technical staff, country offices, government counterparts, WHO, UNICEF, CDC, other GPEI partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen surveillance systems, improve program performance, support outbreak response, and advance polio eradication objectives. Under this consultancy, selected individuals may be engaged to perform one or more of the following activities: Polio Surveillance Systems Strengthening Provide technical assistance to strengthen Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) surveillance systems at national and subnational levels. Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Environmental Surveillance (ES) systems. Assess surveillance sensitivity, quality, completeness, timeliness, and performance against GPEI indicators. Strengthen active case search systems, case investigation procedures, specimen collection, reverse cold chain, and specimen transport. Support surveillance in high-risk, border, conflict-affected, and hard-to-reach populations. Develop recommendations to improve surveillance performance and sustainability. Needs Assessments, Program Reviews, and Technical Assessments Conduct comprehensive polio surveillance needs assessments, gap analyses, and root cause analyses. Lead or support independent program reviews, operational assessments, and technical evaluations. Assess surveillance workforce capacity, governance, laboratory systems, information management, logistics, and coordination mechanisms. Develop evidence-based recommendations and implementation of roadmaps to strengthen surveillance systems. Prepare technical reports, presentations, executive summaries, and briefing materials. Field Technical Assistance Provide in-country technical assistance to Ministries of Health and implementing partners. Support planning and implementation of surveillance strengthening activities. Mentor national and subnational surveillance personnel through supportive supervision and on-the-job coaching. Support implementation of corrective action plans following assessments or program reviews.
