Kwikwasut’Inuxw Haxwa’Mis First Nation (Khfn; The Owner) Invites Tenderers For The Construction Of Erosion Protection For Shoreline Erosion Protection And Restoration Project. The Proposed Work Entails The Construction Of Shoreline Protection On 3 Pocket Beaches (North Beach, Middle Beach, And South Beach) Within Gwa’Yas’Dums Village On Gilford Island. The Shoreline Protection Includes Sections Of Modular Concrete Block Sea Wall, Armour Rock, And Beach Nourishment Material On A Total Length Of Shoreline Of 283 M Across All Three Pocket Beaches. The Work Also Includes Construction Of 108 M Of Boardwalk, And The Installation Of 3 Uncovered, And 1 Covered Awak’Was. Awak’Was Are Cultural Viewing Platforms Or Meeting Places Along The Shoreline. They Are Pile Supported Timber Structures.All Work Shall Be Substantially Completed By February 15Th, 2027.
