Its work is anchored in the Data Governance Directive and the Data Governance Guidelines (published end-2025), which set a clear framework for Bank-wide data management strengthening accountability, driving adoption of Data Standards, improving Data Quality, and promoting the consistent use of governed data through reports and metrics. The Guidelines articulate five guiding principles: (i) treat data as a strategic asset; (ii) prioritize based on value and risk; (iii) establish clear ownership and collaboration; (iv) apply practical and responsive governance; and (v) integrate governance across data and software lifecycles. Oversight has been exercised hands-on including an operationalization test run that transitioned the Banks reporting from signing to commitment, the establishment of standardized definitions across processes, systems, and reporting, and a scalable approach for future Bank-wide data changes. As AIIB enters a more growth-oriented stage with increasing data volume and complexity, it is imperative to complement AIIBs own efforts with external professional support to operationalize the Directive and Guidelines, embed governance into day-to-day practices, and lay a trusted data foundation for reporting, decision-making, and future digital and AI-enabled capabilities. AIIB welcomes bidders from across the data governance and management consulting market including those with experience in investment banks, commercial banks, multilateral institutions, regulators, financial services and large enterprises.
