Gms – Units 1-5 Capacity Increase; Generator Circuit Breaker And Isolated Phase Bus Upgrade . Bc Hydro Is Designing The 13.8Kv Electrical System For Units At Gms Generating Station. - No Nda, No Mandatory Site Visit, No Quote/Proposal Required. - Email Submission Accepted. The Gordon M. Shrum (Gms) Generating Station Consists Of 10 Generating Units Connected Through Isolated Phase Bus (Ipb) Systems And Generator Circuit Breakers (Gcbs) To The Associated Generator Stepup (Gsu) Transformers. Each Gsu Comprises Three Single-Phase Transformers. Units 6 To 8 Were Upgraded In 2012 To Increase Generating Capacity. As Part Of That Project, The Gcbs Were Upgraded To A Continuous Current Rating Of 17 Ka, While The Ipb System Was Upgraded To A Continuous Current Rating Of 14.5 Ka. Bc Hydro Is Evaluating A Similar Capacity Increase For Units 1 To 5 And Is Seeking Market Feedback On Available Technologies, Constructability, Schedule Considerations, And Procurement Approaches. This Project’S Scope Includes Replacement Or Upgrade Of The Existing Units 1 To 5 Ipb Systems, Gcbs, Disconnect Switches (Ds), Grounding Disconnect Switches (Gds), Potential Transformers (Pt), Current Transformers (Ct), Surge Arresters (Sa), And Associated Connection Terminals. The Scope Begins At The Generator Terminals, Continues Through The Approximately 192M Low Voltage Lead Shaft (Lvls), Through The Existing Gcb Building, And Finishes At Gsu Transformers. The Gsu Connection Is A Delta Ipb And Is Part Of The Scope. Bc Hydro Prefers That The Upgraded Gcbs Fit Within The Existing Gcb Building Enclosure. The Upgraded Ipb Is Expected To Fit Within The Existing Lvls And Connect To The Existing Generator And Transformer Terminals Without Requiring Relocation Of The Generators Or Transformers. The Scope Covers Dismantling, Removal, Transport, And Disposal Of Existing Ipb, Gcb And Service Hoist (Sh). Part 4 Provides Additional Project Details, And Part 5 Contains Reference Information. Bc Hydro Is Evaluating A Modification Of The Existing Sh In Lvls. Respondents Are Requested To Comment On Whether Sh Modification Is Recommended, Identify Alternative Access Solutions Where Applicable, And Outline Any Impacts On Constructability, Maintenance, Schedule, And Cost. Additionally, They Should Review The Potential Partial Use Of Sh Space For The Ipb To Support Naturally Air-Cooled Ipb, Considering All Relevant Factors. If The Modification Does Not Help The Naturally Air-Cooled Ipb Goal, The Sh Should Be Replaced With Any Other Available Sh. Bc Hydro Is Currently In The Early Design Stage Of The Project. As Part Of Early Project Planning, Bc Hydro Is Issuing This Request For Information (Rfi) To Gather Market Feedback. High Level Reference Drawings For Both The Existing Units 1 To 5 And Upgraded Units 6 To 8 Have Been Provided For Comparison Only Bc Hydro Is Considering A Future Procurement Process For The Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, And Commissioning Of Upgraded Gcb And Ipb Systems For Units 1 To 5 At The Gms Generating Station. Subject To Project Approvals And Funding, Bc Hydro Currently Anticipates Issuing A Request For Proposals (Rfp) In Approximately 2027. Delivery Or Completion Date Isoctober 2034 (Isd).
