Project Context The Youth Employment in the 21st Century Digital Economy project, implemented by Forward MENA, aims to improve the employability of vulnerable youth by equipping them with in-demand digital skills aligned with labor market needs. Through nammiskills, its digital upskilling and employment platform, youth access free, certified learning pathways from global providers, practical career guidance, and links to job opportunities. As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the labor market, there is a growing need to support youth in developing foundational AI literacy and practical understanding of how AI, machine learning, and generative AI are applied in workplace contexts. The AWS Certified AI Practitioner certificate provides learners with a recognized entry-level credential that validates foundational knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts, AWS AI services, responsible AI, and business applications of AI. This consultancy will support youth beneficiaries in preparing for the AWS Certified AI Practitioner certification through a structured, cohort-based online clinic that combines guided instruction, practical examples, exam preparation, mentoring, and learner support. 2. Objective of the Consultancy The purpose of this consultancy is to design and deliver an online training clinic that prepares youth beneficiaries to successfully complete the AWS Certified AI Practitioner learning pathway and sit for the official certification exam, while strengthening their understanding of AI concepts, generative AI, responsible AI, and AWS AI-related services. The consultancy must: Deliver interactive online sessions aligned with the AWS Certified AI Practitioner exam domains. Support learners in understanding core AI, machine learning, generative AI, responsible AI, and AWS service concepts. Prepare youth for the official certification exam through guided review, quizzes, practice questions, mock exams, and exam-readiness support. Mentor learners throughout the preparation period to increase their chances of passing the certification exam. Provide additional guidance and follow-up support to learners who do not pass on their first attempt, where applicable, to help them address knowledge gaps and prepare for a retake. Provide ongoing learner support to increase completion, engagement, and certification readiness. 3. Methodology The consultancy will implement an online, instructor-led training clinic designed to accommodate youth availability during weekday evenings. The clinic should be practical, engaging, and focused on helping learners complete the certification pathway, sit for the official exam, and improve their chances of passing. The methodology will include: Online live training sessions delivered during weekday evening hours. Sessions of approximately 2 hours each, up to 3 times per week, depending on the agreed schedule. Delivery to one cohort of approximately 30-40 students. A structured training plan aligned with the AWS Certified AI Practitioner exam domains. Clear explanation of foundational AI, machine learning, generative AI, responsible AI, and AWS service concepts. Practical examples and use cases relevant to business, education, technology, and employability contexts. Learner engagement activities, including Q&A, short exercises, quizzes, and group discussion. Exam preparation support, including practice questions, mock exams, review sessions, and guidance on exam strategy. Individual or group mentoring to support learners in preparing for and sitting for the official certification exam. Follow-up mentoring for learners who do not pass the exam on their first attempt, where applicable, including guidance on weak areas and recommended preparation steps. Continuous follow-up on learner attendance, participation, progress, and readiness. Coordination with Forward MENA on learner engagement, reporting, exam scheduling follow-up, and any required support. 4. Use of the Consultancy The consultancy will be used to strengthen the technical capacity and certification readiness of youth beneficiaries in artificial intelligence and cloud-based AI services. By delivering a structured AWS Certified AI Practitioner preparation clinic, the consultancy will contribute to improving certification completion rates and enhancing participants employability in AI-enabled roles and digital economy pathways. 5. Expected Deliverables The consultant/company is expected to deliver the following: A structured online training clinic aligned with the AWS Certified AI Practitioner certification curriculum. A detailed session plan, including learning objectives, topics, exercises, and exam preparation activities. Training materials, presentations, practice questions, and learner support resources. Interactive online sessions delivered to a cohort of 30-40 students. Quizzes, assignments, or practice activities to assess learner progress. At least one mock exam or exam-readiness assessment. Exam preparation and mentoring support to help learners sit for the official AWS Certified AI Practitioner exam. Follow-up mentoring for learners who do not pass the exam on their first attempt, where applicable. Attendance records for all sessions. A final completion report including: Number of sessions delivered Attendance and participation summary Learner progress and engagement Exam-readiness outcomes Number of learners who sat for the exam, where available Number of learners who passed the exam, where available Challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for improving certification success Note: Full payment will be provided considering an 80% success rate of the students. 6. Implementation Timeline The consultancy will run from: August 15, 2026 to September 30, 2026 The exact schedule will be agreed with Forward MENA prior to the start of the assignment. Sessions are expected to take place during weekday evenings, with each session lasting approximately two hours and up to three sessions delivered per week. The timeline should allow sufficient time for training delivery, exam preparation, mock assessment, mentoring, and follow-up support for learners preparing to sit for the official certification exam. Subject to satisfactory performance and program needs, the consultancy may be renewed or extended at a later stage upon mutual agreement. 7. Consultant Qualifications 7.1 Academic Qualifications A university degree in computer science, information systems, artificial intelligence, data science, cloud computing, engineering, or a related field is preferred. A masters degree in a relevant field is an asset. 7.2 Professional Experience Proven experience in delivering technical training, preferably to youth, early-career learners, or non-technical audiences. Demonstrated experience in AI, cloud computing, digital skills, or certification-oriented training. Experience preparing learners for professional certification exams is a strong asset. Experience delivering online training in an interactive and learner-centered format. 7.3 Technical Expertise The lead trainer must hold the AWS Certified AI Practitioner certification or another relevant AWS certification with demonstrated AI/ML expertise. Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, generative AI, responsible AI, and AWS AI-related services. Familiarity with the AWS Certified AI Practitioner exam structure, domains, and preparation approach. Ability to simplify technical concepts and connect them to practical workplace and employability use cases. 7.4 Competencies Strong instructional and facilitation skills. Ability to deliver engaging online sessions to a cohort of 30-40 youth learners. Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset. Learner-centered approach with the ability to support participants with different levels of technical readiness. Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to provide constructive feedback, mentoring, and exam-readiness support. Ability to mentor learners toward certification success, including supporting those who may need additional guidance after an unsuccessful exam attempt. Results-oriented mindset with a focus on learner completion, engagement, and certification success. 7.5 Added Value Experience with AWS Academy, AWS Educate, AWS Skill Builder, or similar learning pathways is an asset. Familiarity with test preparation methods and practice questions for AWS certification exams is an asset. Previous experience working with vulnerable youth, employability programs, NGOs, or donor-funded projects is an asset.
