Jul 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Conflict Resolution, Development, Training & Capacity Building Conflict Sensitivity Consultancy and Training Services The Conflict Sensitivity Unit at Threads of Peace is pleased to invite public and private institutions, local and international NGOs, social initiatives, and volunteer groups across Lebanon to benefit from our specialized Conflict Sensitivity consultancy and training services. These tailored services are designed to strengthen organizations capacity to understand their operating context, analyze conflict dynamics, and develop practical conflict-sensitive approaches that help reduce tensions and maximize positive impact when implementing interventions. Who We Are About Threads of Peace Threads of Peace, commonly known as House of Peace (HOPe), began as a local initiative in 2012 and was officially registered as a non-governmental organization in 2019. The organization was founded by a diverse group of young individuals seeking meaning, belonging, and ways to contribute positively during a period of significant change. United by a common purpose, they provided humanitarian assistance to displaced communities while promoting hope, inclusion, and social cohesion. Over the years, the initiative evolved into a growing network committed to humanitarian action, peacebuilding, and conflict sensitivity. Today, Threads of Peace continues to serve as a platform that brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds to promote social peace, strengthen community resilience, and mainstream conflict-sensitive practices across sectors. We exist to support social peace, mainstream conflict sensitivity, and promote the well-being of communities, civil society actors, public institutions, and private sector stakeholders. Conflict Sensitivity Training Programs Conflict Sensitivity Training for Staff Level 1 (CST1) Duration: 2- 3 consecutive days (flexible timing based on groups availability) Focus: Understand the operating context, conflict dynamics, key stakeholders, and factors influencing tensions and cohesion. Do No Harm and Conflict Sensitivity Approaches Project Interaction Analysis and assess how interventions interact with existing conflict dynamics and affect communities. Conflict-Sensitive Action Planning: Develop a practical action plan to integrate conflict sensitivity into participants projects/programs to ensure quality improvement of project and donor compliance. PS: These action measures can also be integrated in future proposals of the similar project used under this training. Follow-up:A customized two follow-up meeting to support implementation of the action plan. Conflict Resolution Training Program Duration: 2- 3 consecutive days (flexible timing based on groups availability) Focus: identify and distinguish between at least three different types of conflict. explain the stages of the conflict cycle and recognize how conflicts evolve over time. apply three conflict analysis tools to analyze underlying causes, perspectives, positions, interests, and needs within conflict situations. unfold an action plan to resolve specific conflict to support organization development and quality effectiveness. Benefits of Participating Professional Recognition Participants will receive a certificate of completion recognizing their strengthened knowledge and practical skills in Conflict Sensitivity. This certification demonstrates a commitment to responsible, context-aware, and high-quality work across projects, programs, services, and business operations. Practical Conflict Sensitivity Output By the end of the training, each participating organization, company, or team will develop its own Conflict Sensitivity Output document tailored to its work, whether related to humanitarian programs, development projects, community initiatives, private-sector operations, service delivery, or business activities. This practical output can serve as an internal planning and quality assurance tool, as well as a professional document to share with donors, partners, clients, investors, or stakeholders. It will help participants translate Conflict Sensitivity into concrete action, reduce risks, avoid unintended tensions, and strengthen the quality, credibility, and effectiveness of their work. The process will also support organizations and businesses in capturing learning, identifying practical action measures, and integrating Conflict Sensitivity into future proposals, strategies, operations, partnerships, and funding opportunities. Stronger Reputation and Stakeholder Trust Conflict-sensitive organizations and businesses are better positioned to build trust with communities, clients, partners, donors, investors, authorities, and other stakeholders. By understanding the context in which they operate and managing risks responsibly, participants can strengthen their reputation as accountable, ethical, and socially responsible actors. Strategic and Competitive Advantage Applying Conflict Sensitivity is both a responsibility and a strategic advantage. It helps organizations and businesses improve decision-making, strengthen stakeholder engagement, reduce operational and reputational risks, and design more sustainable, inclusive, and impactful projects, services, and operations. For NGOs, this can strengthen donor confidence, proposal quality, partnerships, and funding opportunities. For businesses, it can support responsible market engagement, community acceptance, risk management, client trust, and long-term operational sustainability. Availability To ensure high-quality, tailored support, Threads of Peace will provide these consultancy and training services to a limited number of organizations annually. Training Capacity: 815 participants per group Eligibility Requirements Organizations applying should: Commit to the full training and follow-up process. Sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Threads of Peace. Have a minimum of full-time staff members available to participate. Attend an introductory meeting with the Conflict Sensitivity team prior to the training. Designate a focal point for coordination and communication. Be willing to contribute financially to the training fees (pricing details will be shared upon selection).
