The Dam Is Designed As A Massive Gravity Dam In Concrete, Attached To The Rock With Rock Bolts. The Dam Must Be Established With A Flood Overflow And Draining Device. The Cart Road Into The Construction Area Will Be Upgraded To Handle The Transport Of Construction Machinery. For Crossing The Vennaelva, A Permanent Crossing Designed As Irish Crossing Will Be Established. The Massive Concrete Dam Will Have An Assumed Length Of Approx. 20 M And A Maximum Height Of 3.5 M. The Dam Will Be Vertical On The Upstream Side, And Slope On The Windward Side 1:0.5 (V:H). The Width Of The Dam Crown Is 2.0M. The Dam Must Have A 2.0 M Long Flood Spillway, With An Overflow Crown Of Hrv = 347.0. The Dam Crown For The Dam Is Placed 0.2 M Higher Than The Hrv. The Dam Is Bolted To The Rock With Rock Bolts Ø32 Mm And C/C 1000 Mm. The Bolts Are Driven 4.5 M Into The Mountain. The Dam Is Built A Few Meters Downstream Of The Existing Dam. The Existing Dam Consists Of A 25-30 Cm Thick Concrete Slab With A Reinforcing Fill On The Downstream Side Of The Slab. The Existing Pond Acts As A Catch Pond During The Works. The Uppermost Approx. 1.0 M Of The Existing Dam And Fill Must Be Demolished And Removed After The New Dam Has Been Built.
