Dam-Design Services – Study Of Alternative Type Of Dam At Sarapio Site. The Object Of The Study To Be Commissioned Is The Drafting Of The Final Studies Required For The Construction Of An Alternative Type Of Dam To Replace The Existing Unfinished Earth Dam, At The Location Of Sarapio On The Island Of Chios. The Existing Unfinished Sarapi Dam Has Been Constructed By Applying The Relevant Approved Studies, Based On The Relevant Contract Dated 10/01/2005, By The Contractor Euromechaniki Sa. The Construction Work Was Stopped In July 2010. The Geographical Location Of The Project Is Located In The North-North-Eastern Part Of The Island Of Chios, At A Distance Of About 3 Km. Northwest Of The Settlement Of Lagada And 2 Km. Approximately South Of The Settlement Of Kardamylos. The Axis Of The Dam Is Located In The Bed Of The Valley That Originates From The Confluence Of The Koulalas And Nerolithos Streams. The Purpose Of The Project Is To Create A Water Storage Tank With A Capacity Of Approximately One Million Cubic Meters, In Order To Supply Water To Neighboring Areas (De Chios, De Homeroupoli, Etc.).
